I'm back with one of my favorite products!

So during those busy fall months of family photos, wrapping up summer weddings and my own personal hectic schedule, I have a tendancy to neglect the blog.  f.e.b. images' facebook page, however, is up-to-date with lots of fun, fall, family photos.  However, I wanted to share a recent sample of one of my favorite products.  It's not something I sell individually, but if you've received one in the mail, I hope it was a pleasant surprise!

When a client orders a family portrait session or their wedding images on CD, they receive them in one of these custom cases with a few of my personal favorites from their session/event.  Here's a glimpse of a case from one of this summer's weddings:

I took this late at night, right before I popped it into a shipping envelope, so the lighting is not perfect, but I just loved the way this one turned out and wanted to share.  I added the little hints of green to match Aimee's bridesmaid dresses, and the photos are from one of those brutally hot days in July (which seems nice right about now)!

Stay tuned for more (regularly scheduled) posts!

Pink Summer!

It was a pink summer!  In other words, there were lots of sessions with little girls and their families.  Here's a glimpse at just a few.  Aren't they adorable?

Sophia's nine month shoot:

Here's Kate at just two months!

Six month old Allie:

It was lots of fun photographing these sweet ladies and their families.  I'm already well into the whirlwind of fall sessions, but it's fun looking back at these summer sessions!

Aimee and David

Aimee and David met at SLU (where Aimee now works), and earlier this summer, they got married at the beautiful College Church.

They are a gorgeous couple, and their wedding party was really good about outdoor pictures in the heat!

Probably because they knew they were headed to Humphreys for some food, drink, and air conditioning. They rented the side room for their wedding party, and everyone had a chance to relax and have fun.
Then it was on to the beautiful Soulard Preservation Hall.  The reception was stunning, and Aimee and David's families hosted a great celebration.

And, seriously, Galaxy (the band) was so good, I didn't want to leave!

Aimee and David's vendors helped make the happy couple's day a success.  Here they are:

Second Shooter: Savanna McNabb
Florist: Tina Barrera The Special Event Florist
Lunch: Humphrey's Bar and Grill
Cake: Encore Bakery
Caterer: Gregory's Creative Cuisine
Reception: Soulard Preservation Hall
Band: Galaxy
Bus: Road Pony

Beautiful Things

My guess is that if you enjoy having beautiful photos of family around your home, you enjoy other beautiful "things" around your home too.  One of the popular blogs out there known for sharing beautiful home decor with its readers is Design*Sponge.  If you're not already a subscriber, go here immediately.  But the really big news is that their new book is out, and you can get 50% off at Barnes & Noble by pre-ordering here.  Check it out!  (Note: I have not previewed the book, but if it's anything like the blog, it's got to be great!)

Auction Donation & New Product Feature!

As many of you know, I work as a fundraiser in my less-artistic, albeit fascinating, other life.  So I'm sympathetic to the needs of so many great St. Louis nonprofit organizations.  One of my many generous and thoughtful clients is coordinating a fundraiser for the Almost Home organization, which provides transitional housing for homeless mothers and children.  I had a specific auction donation in mind, and it involved f.e.b. images' newest product!

Organic Blooms frames are absolutely lovely, and these custom creations are availabile in an almost unlimited number of fabulous color combinations, shapes and sizes.  F.e.b. Images will be donating an 8 x 10 Lucy frame in French Vanilla, as well as a portrait session and 8 x 10 canvas mounted print!

Isn't it beautiful?

Here's a detail shot of the wood frame with chocolate brown glaze.

Do you have a charity near and dear to your heart?  I'd be happy to support your cause if a donation like this is appropriate.  I just need time to arrange for a special custom order like this!

FYI:  I can also hook you up with a frame or frame gallery for your own home.  Interested?  Let's talk!  A collection of these would look beautiful in a nursery or hallway, and they're both affordable and unique.  I'm offering a one-time only Introductory discount of 25% through August.  Since they are custom, they take awhile to come in, so order early for holiday gifts.  They're worth the wait!

One last shot to leave you drooling!

Mary and Nick's Wedding

Mary and Nick's wedding sure brought back some memories.  Not only did they have their wedding/reception at one of my favorite places to photograph, it was also where we got married in 2007--the Randall Gallery.  And Mary and Nick celebrated in a style that truly represented them (notice the red shoes)!

We started with a first look at Forest Park, and I just love their reactions!

I told you they were great shoes!

My fabulous second shooter got the shot above just before Mary walked down the aisle and the one below, which truly shows why the Randall Gallery is such a treasure-great job Savanna!

Megan and Matt, on the left, are a great couple we worked with back in September, and it was a treat to see them again.  I absolutely love the candid of Nick with his mom also.

Mary and Nick chose some great vendors to work with for their wedding day:

Flowers: Walter Knoll
DJ: Elite Pro
Cake: Lubeley's
Cake Topper: Rhoda Lynch of BlueButterflyDesign (Etsy)
Shoes: Nine West
Chocolate Favors: Kacao
Ceremony/Reception: Randall Gallery

It's been awhile, and I've been busy!

I know I've been MIA on the blog the last few weeks, but I hope you've been checking the Facebook site where everything is just about up to date.  If not, become a fan here so you don't miss a single sneak preview or the newest props, products, or mini session announcements.  Without further ado, here is a recap of my last several sessions with a great crew of young ladies!  Check them out!

Session #1
Lucy is now 6 months, which many of you know is one of my favorite ages! It's hard to believe she's this same little tiny thing--check out her newborn pics here (she's the one in the sweet pink hat).

Session #2
Sophia and Addison are a set of sisters with big, beautiful eyes.  Aren't they stunning?

Lucky me- another 6 month session!!!

Session#3
Allie rounds out my trio of great sessions with the gals for this blog post!  She's full of expression and loves the camera!  You can tell her parents are totally in love with their baby girl.

Next up, Mary and Nick's wedding post!  Stay tuned.

Mary and Nick's Mini Session

Just a few weeks before their wedding (more to come on that later), Mary and Nick participated in mini sessions to follow up their winter Engagement session at the Fox Theatre.  We had a great morning for a few outdoor photos in Historic St. Charles.

This was f.e.b. images' first ever mini sessions, and we'll be trying this format again in the Fall to prepare for the holiday card rush.

Fischer

Although it's raining outside right now, we had great weather for Fischer's afternoon photo session a few weeks ago!  What a cutie!

Angela and Matt's Wedding

It's a little late because I've been busy photographing lots of little ones lately, but this blog post is near and dear to me.   Angela was my best friend back when we were...three!  That's right...three!  When I got the phone call to discuss photography for her wedding, I was thrilled.  It was great to see her family after all these years, and I must say that this was one happy day for all of them.

Also, Angela looked absolutely gorgeous...don't you think?

Engagement Photos at the Fox with Mary and Nick

Thanks to Mary and Nick, I had the opportunity to photograph at the Fox Theatre. They needed an indoor space to take engagement photos during a cold winter day, and they organized this session. These are some of the most dramatic engagement photos I've done, with high contrast lighting, elegant backgrounds, and unique architectural elements. What a treat!
